Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide project technical support and responsible design for transmission overhead line projects up to 400kV.
  • •Deliver overhead line design support on complex multi-discipline projects and contribute to large programmes (e.g., Great Grid Upgrade).
  • •Perform detailed OHL design activities including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis and loading trees, design criteria, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reports.
  • •Support feasibility studies, including conductor thermal ratings, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • •Originate and check engineering deliverables (designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages) and perform internal quality checks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET).
  • •Experience delivering UK transmission system operator projects (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with each operator’s standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering, ideally up to 400kV.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
