Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, implement, improve, and govern capable methods of manufacture, assembly, and installation for Naval Ships, including verification methods.
  • •Significantly influence, collaborate, and coordinate manufacturing engineering activities, creating future legacy for shipbuilding on the Clyde and in customer/partner facilities.
  • •Lead, develop, and motivate assigned team members, including creating/defining/approving facilities, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing instructions/policies/process instructions where appropriate.
  • •Influence product design to define optimised products to meet operational capabilities and guarantee delivery of manufacturing engineering outputs into customer manufacturing operations.
  • •Create and support benefit cases for funded improvements; manage facility investment projects from concept to commissioning; observe, collate, document data and use analysis tools to trend and recommend improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •Previous experience in Manufacturing/Process/Method Planning, NC Programming, Tool Definition, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Systems implementation, or Facility Investment activities.
  • •Ability to understand and interpret requirements, specifications, and engineering models and outputs.
  • •Use recognised techniques to analyse problems into root causes rather than symptoms.
  • •Conceptual, methodical thinking to describe and define processes and procedures.
