Job Summary

Design, develop, document, commission, and test RF characteristics for US Navy LF/VLF radio transmitter hardware modifications. Build and maintain VLF/LF waveforms and modulations on real-time systems, diagnose RF and electronics failures, and perform RF checks, point-to-point and acceptance testing. Use antenna, propagation, and test-equipment knowledge while creating reports and troubleshooting on local and off-site locations, including maintenance windows and surveys with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, document, commission, and test RF characteristics for system hardware modifications for US Navy LF/VLF radio transmitters.
•Design, configure, and maintain VLF/LF waveforms and modulations on real-time systems.
•Understand antenna structures and diagnose equipment impurities; perform tuning house troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
•Perform RF checks, point-to-point testing, acceptance testing, on-site troubleshooting, and generate test procedures/reports/redlines.
•Perform electronics troubleshooting to component level and use test equipment while following ESD controls and calibration requirements.

Travel: High travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 130,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Clearance: must be able to obtain SECRET.
•U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of the role.
•9+ years with high school (or commensurate experience); BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with 6 years relevant experience is considered in lieu.
•Experience with automated industrial control systems, including systems analysis/architecture and test & evaluation/support/logistics.
•Hands-on electronics technician skills: schematic interpretation, component-level troubleshooting, harness/cable fabrication, connectorization, and soldering/rework with safe practices around high voltage/high power systems.
