Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate asphalt paving crews to spread, roll, tamp, and patch asphalt for highways, streets, parking lots, and driveways. Ensure health and safety compliance, protect both crew members and the public, maintain quality standards, train new crew members, and monitor job-site progress against schedules and contract requirements. Manage production schedules, estimate work requirements, and maintain time, materials, and daily job-costing records while recommending improvements to methods, equipment, and crew performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure health and safety standards are met and promote a safe work environment.
•Ensure the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with the job.
•Train new crew members and maintain quality standards for completed work.
•Supervise and coordinate crew activities by reviewing production schedules and estimating work requirements to meet or beat job estimates.
•Maintain time and materials records for daily job costing, and tour job sites to verify schedule progress and contract compliance (including slope and material thickness).

Key Requirements

•3 to 5 years of related asphalt and paving experience (or equivalent education/training).
•Private/commercial paving experience, including training and experience in M.O.T.
•Ability to compute rates/percent and interpret bar graphs using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
•Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos; type and use keyboards accurately; knowledge of database software.
•Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently, and keep time and material records.
