Job Summary

Build and maintain core services for a liquidity observability engine that tracks where funds are or are projected to be across Visa’s global network. Design and implement robust, performant, event-driven solutions to enable real-time decision-making. Work with cross-functional partners to deliver high-availability, scalable, observable components using Java on AWS with Kubernetes, microservices, Kafka streaming, and contract testing. Improve code quality, testing, and CI/CD practices as part of DevOps-aligned delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and maintain core services for the liquidity observability engine using Java and related technologies.
•Implement event-driven patterns to support real-time decision-making across the system.
•Ensure high availability, scalability, and observability of critical components.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions that meet organizational needs.
•Contribute to continuous improvement in code quality, testing, and deployment practices, advocating event-driven architecture within the team.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 2+ years with an advanced degree), or 8+ years of relevant experience.
•Strong experience in Java backend development (8+, ideally 11+) with Spring Boot.
•Strong experience with event-driven architectures and applying them pragmatically.
•Strong experience with Kafka and distributed streaming systems (including Flink).
•Expert knowledge of Docker, EKS, AWS (public cloud), and Kafka, plus modern cloud-native practices (microservices, CI/CD, observability, and testing automation).
