Key Responsibilities

•Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written transcripts following project-specific style guides
•Apply correct conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, false starts, and non-speech events
•Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues using project conventions and engage with QA reviewers on edge cases
•Self-review submissions against Perle’s quality bar before delivery
•Collaborate with Perle’s linguistic leads and QA team to update style guides and calibrate tasks

Key Requirements

•Native fluency in Bulgarian with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Bulgaria
•Mastery of Bulgarian Cyrillic orthography and ability to distinguish Bulgarian from Macedonian and Serbian in mixed audio
•At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience
•Ability to commit to defined weekly volume during active project phases and work with high-speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace
•Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback
