Key Responsibilities

  • •Transcribe audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written transcripts following project-specific style guides
  • •Apply correct conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, disfluencies, fillers, false starts, and non-speech events
  • •Flag ambiguous segments and audio quality issues using project conventions and engage with QA reviewers on edge cases
  • •Self-review submissions against Perle’s quality bar before delivery
  • •Collaborate with Perle’s linguistic leads and QA team to update style guides and calibrate tasks

Key Requirements

  • •Native fluency in Bulgarian with lifelong residence or deep immersion in Bulgaria
  • •Mastery of Bulgarian Cyrillic orthography and ability to distinguish Bulgarian from Macedonian and Serbian in mixed audio
  • •At least two years of professional transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, or linguistic annotation experience
  • •Ability to commit to defined weekly volume during active project phases and work with high-speed internet, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace
  • •Comfortable with web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback
