Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive health and safety and environmental compliance, monitoring programs and instructing corrective action after incidents.
  • •Oversee operations and maintenance across departments to meet negotiated production levels and facility goals.
  • •Forecast monthly production with the General Manager and Commercial group to ensure quotas are met.
  • •Maintain accurate material inventories and manage inventory/quality processes to prevent off-spec shipments and ensure compliance with internal and SOX controls.
  • •Supervise facility managers and production and maintenance employees; review performance, interview candidates, and manage staff practices in line with HR policies and union contracts as applicable.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5-10 years of experience in steel scrap yard operations with familiarity with physical operations and personnel.
  • •College degree preferred; coursework in business/operations management helpful.

  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an automobile.
  • •Knowledge of operations plus leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, math skills, and intermediate computer competency.
