Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the academy in achieving its strategic intentions and targets aligned to the improvement plan and self-evaluation.
  • •Lead strategic direction and development of the department, including vision setting, analysing data, improvement planning, target setting, and ongoing self-evaluation.
  • •Lead and manage staff, including staffing oversight, recruitment, performance appraisal, and professional development.
  • •Develop and evaluate curriculum and schemes of work across year groups and courses, ensuring provision for SEN/POD, G&T, and EAL students.
  • •Monitor and support student progress using appropriate data (e.g., home learning, student voice, observations, student work reviews) and communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
  • •Minimum of 6 years leading the English National Curriculum with GCSE and A Level experience; BTEC Sport Level 2 & 3 experience.
  • •Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • •Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • •Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
