Job Summary

Provide controls system support and engineer improvements for plant safety, capacity, efficiency, reliability, and the work environment. Own capital project work at a Dover, Delaware site supporting four plants, partnering with operations, maintenance, and engineering to design and maintain control systems (including safety), program PLC/HMI logic, prepare electrical drawings in EPLAN, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage capital projects and design/develop/improve/control systems that automate processes, including safety systems.
•Select and install control hardware, develop supporting software, and maintain existing control systems.
•Gather and document plant requirements for controls and automation using interviews, documentation analysis, and workflow process mapping.
•Develop PLC and HMI programming logic, including creating I/O count/assignments, instrument loop diagrams, and electrical drawings using EPLAN; oversee equipment installation.
•Troubleshoot process and hardware issues, perform testing and modifications, train staff, analyze control/electrical data, and support on-time, on-budget project execution.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent work experience.
•3+ years of controls experience.
•Experience with Allen Bradley Contrologix PLC programming (Ladder, SFC, UDT, PID, AOI) and PLC optimization.
•HMI development and industrial controls data systems (OPC, alarms/events, datalogging, historical data).
•Knowledge of electrical standards and NEC/NFPA, with travel up to approximately 50% as needed.
