Job Summary

Lead engineering design across multi-disciplinary construction projects, from early concepts through delivery. You’ll manage design input, evaluate designs and solutions, and collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders to ensure outcomes are buildable, compliant, innovative, and efficient. Partner closely with clients, project teams, and contractors/consultants to manage scope changes, risks, and consultant performance—supporting design managers and external design consultants under agreed contracts.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with the Project Manager to manage the contract with external design consultants, ensuring duties are discharged and taking appropriate action if not.
•Manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams across consultants and partner companies to deliver required design levels.
•Evaluate designs and solutions to ensure they meet project needs and requirements.
•Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders and design coordinators to support integrated delivery.
•Liaise with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, contractors, and consultants on project issues, scope changes, and risks.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 5 years of design and management experience.
•Around 5 years managing design through the full project lifecycle across multiple sectors and procurement routes.
•Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
•Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
•Degree/HNC qualified (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline such as Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical; CAD experience with AutoCAD or Revit preferred.
