Job Summary

Lead internal audit engagements for financial institutions, advising clients on an integrated and sustainable internal audit approach across strategy, people, process, and technology. Oversee risk assessment and audit planning, execute audits with senior management interviews, guide junior team members, and review workpapers. Manage engagement economics, budgets, risks, issues, and billing while supporting business development, proposals, client relationships, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Support business development through proposal development, project planning, internal audit project execution, and issue validation.
•Conduct internal audit risk assessment and planning by researching client background and risks, leading risk assessment, and preparing internal audit plans and kickoff meetings.
•Execute internal audit plans by interviewing senior management, overseeing engagement teams day to day, guiding junior team members, reviewing work papers, and preparing kickoff and exit meetings.
•Manage end-to-end internal audit engagement economics including scope, engagement progress, budget vs. actual, risks and issues, and billing.
•Prepare draft reports, wrap up internal audit work, and develop relationships with client personnel and internal teams across service lines; contribute to thought leadership materials.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
•Minimum 7 years of experience with internal audit and AML, BSA, OFAC compliance in a big public accounting/consulting firm, regulatory environment, or the banking sector.
•Strong knowledge of IIA Standards, auditing standards and procedures, and relevant financial services laws, rules, and regulations.
•Broad abilities in process and controls and risk assessment.
•Extensive experience developing and implementing internal audit programs across financial, operational, technology, and compliance audits, including managing co-sourcing/outsourcing engagements and using advanced technology/AI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Enterprise ChatGPT, copilot).
