Key Responsibilities

  • •Direct multi-state healthcare regulatory strategy, overseeing DME licensure, accreditation, and compliance across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer frameworks.
  • •Lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of enterprise payer/provider agreements with health systems and strategic partners.
  • •Manage payer audits, prepayment reviews, and risk management protocols across revenue cycle and clinical operations.
  • •Partner with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to ensure regulatory alignment before launching new service lines and software workflows.
  • •Build the legal and compliance function from the ground up as the sole practitioner in year one, establishing the long-term legal infrastructure.

Key Requirements

  • •JD and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (NY admission or eligibility for in-house registration).
  • •10+ years of legal experience with substantial time in healthcare regulatory matters.
  • •Demonstrated depth in federal healthcare fraud and abuse law applied to real commercial structures.
  • •Hands-on Medicare/Medicaid experience across reimbursement, coverage/payment standards, claims denials, and audit/appeals.
  • •Owned payer/provider/enterprise agreements end to end and can advise business-forward under uncertainty; comfortable operating as the only lawyer.
