Job Summary

Design and integrate utility-scale renewable and battery energy storage systems (BESS), supporting projects across feasibility through commissioning. Develop solar PV and BESS system layouts, energy production models, electrical calculations, specifications, and construction drawing development. Coordinate electrical design schedules and budgets with project teams, estimate system costs and payback/ROI, and provide engineering support for EPC design/build delivery, including occasional travel.

•Work with project teams to develop electrical design schedules and budgets for assigned activities.
•Perform solar PV and BESS design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections.
•Develop energy production modeling, construction specifications, and engineering calculations (including NEC-related and electrical distribution sizing).
•Support projects through full lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning and participate in meetings requiring occasional travel.

Key Requirements

•BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or an engineering-related discipline plus 4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
•Demonstrated experience designing and integrating utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.
•Experience with solar PV and BESS system design and engineering calculations (e.g., voltage, conductor sizing, protection, conduit sizing).
•Familiarity with power system modeling tools such as ETAP and/or SKM and industry software like Homer, NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope.
•Knowledge of NEC and related codes and utility standards (e.g., IBC, NFPA 855, NESC, IEEE, PIP).
