Key Responsibilities

  • •Interpret customer/colleague instructions and translate them into design concepts, providing feedback and design input.
  • •Design and detail mechanical solutions, including 3D solid models, mechanical drawings, and supporting calculations and analysis where needed.
  • •Analyze designs to ensure structural integrity and thermal management performance, and prepare design descriptions and performance reports.
  • •Provide design-for-manufacture advice and support knowledge of new materials and manufacturing techniques for cost and future product goals.
  • •Generate design and manufacture details from first-off prototypes to approved production-ready design data packs, including peer review of colleagues’ designs.

Key Requirements

  • •A good degree in mechanical engineering or other engineering sciences (or equivalent qualifications) with appropriate experience.
  • •Strong technical knowledge of mechanical design, structural analysis, design for manufacture, and materials.
  • •Ability to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element (FE) tools, plus Microsoft Office.
  • •Understanding of basic environmental testing methods, with heat transfer and thermal management experience as beneficial.
  • •Ability to work with self-direction in a team environment and produce technical reports and product documentation.
