Job Summary

Drive geospatial data and tooling for a large-scale project as part of a GIS engineering team. Source diverse geospatial data, build automated data prep and AI/ML pipeline tooling (e.g., GDAL), manage data coverage and cost, and collaborate with AI/ML, Pipeline, and Product teams to enable new regions and applications.

•Aggregate data for target regions and ensure a complete collection of data is available.
•Research open, public domain, and commercial sensor data sources to determine areas, quality, and freshness of data.
•Utilize open source tools (e.g., GDAL) and internal software to preprocess, align, crop, and resample data for AI/ML use.
•Contribute to internal tools that process and source geospatial datasets.
•Partner with AI/ML, Pipeline, and Product teams to understand GIS data needs and to roll out data for new regions.

•Masters degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

•Experience with GIS modalities and formats (e.g., GeoTIFF, LiDAR, ESRI Shapefiles, GeoJSON, OSM; DTM/DSM/DEMs; landcover).
•Software engineering experience, including designing and architecting software; Python for automation is required.
