Job Summary

Provide technical assistance and lead vertical transportation (elevators, escalators, moving walkways) due diligence, design, and construction support across multi-site projects in public and private sectors. Apply vertical transportation engineering techniques to analyze existing and proposed conditions, develop plans and specifications, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with codes and permits. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and presentations, and stay current on mechanical/VTS engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide guidance collecting and analyzing site data (surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings) for VTS project development, design, and construction.
•Apply vertical transportation engineering techniques across project phases from concept through procurement, construction, and operations to identify improvements.
•Conduct research and inspections of proposed/existing site conditions and VTS equipment to confirm conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
•Develop construction and installation plans, specifications, and cost estimates, including safety and phasing plans, and coordinate with owners and other disciplines.
•Coordinate, review, and approve installation design plans, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations; prepare reports, drawings, and presentations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with a focus on VTS.
•5+ years of relevant post-education experience in vertical transportation design and engineering.
•Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
•Strong knowledge of mechanical and vertical transportation engineering principles, design/build processes, and application to project issues.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, VTS design/construction management, rehabilitation/new builds, and relevant codes, regulations, and compliance.
