Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and own DigitalOcean’s reference architectures for next-generation Data Center environments, keeping facility designs future-proofed with evolving technology.
  • •Serve as the primary technical stakeholder for MEP systems across leased colocation and build-to-suit environments, partnering with DC Ops SMEs.
  • •Provide leadership and guidance as a primary stakeholder in the new site selection process.
  • •Architect end-to-end cooling designs with vendors to support high-density CPU/GPU deployments and emerging hardware.
  • •Architect end-to-end power topologies to support diverse hardware and migrate from 415VAC to 800VDC, across medium to ultra-high-density deployments.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience in data center architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a related field, with a track record of owning designs at scale.
  • •Deep expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for leased colocation and build-to-suit data centers.
  • •Strong knowledge of cooling technologies from air cooling to direct liquid cooling and rack-scale liquid systems for high-density deployments.
  • •Familiarity with AI/ML hardware roadmaps and ability to translate trends into future-proof facility designs.
  • •Knowledge of non-traditional infrastructure approaches such as behind-the-meter (BTM) power and modular data center designs.
