Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a safety leader by sponsoring Teck values and embedding a robust HSEC program and culture.
  • •Lead the Teck field construction team, optimizing workforce levels and staffing mixes to achieve project milestones.
  • •Ensure detailed site mobilization planning and establish the field construction site, including facilities, equipment, services, and staff.
  • •Manage CM service provider performance and deliver construction activities through planning, execution, monitoring, issue resolution, and reporting.
  • •Develop construction plans and schedules with contractors and Operations, monitor performance vs. plans/contracts, and coordinate work among contractors and operational personnel.

Key Requirements

  • •A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil or electrical engineering is desired but not mandatory.
  • •At least 15 years of experience managing construction of major brownfield and greenfield resource-industry projects, with preference for large-scale mining in North America and Arctic projects.
  • •Experience managing execution of infrastructure projects, with background in Architecture and SMP areas of projects.
  • •Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills, with 100% grasp of the English language crucial.
  • •Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including understanding local indigenous cultures in a project environment.
