Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently identify and manage a portfolio of 100–125 prospects/donors, progressing major gift prospects through qualification to stewardship and documenting outcomes in WGU’s donor management system.
  • •Develop and deliver persuasive written and oral proposals aligned to fundraising priorities and donor investment interests.
  • •Engage prospective donors and build strong long-term relationships to help retain and upgrade continuing donors.
  • •Collaborate with the WGU Advancement team, Regional Vice President, and internal stakeholders to develop and vet proposals and reports.
  • •Qualify and cultivate prospects capable of contributing $100K+ and regularly report donor activity and strategy to internal leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
  • •6+ years of experience cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, including fundraising and relationship management.
  • •Experience cultivating, closing, and stewarding six-figure gifts.
  • •Residence and strong philanthropic connections in the Southeast Region (Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee).
