Job Summary

Oversee the daily upkeep, repair, and safe operation of O2 Academy Brixton, ensuring the Grade II listed venue stays show-ready, guest-friendly, and compliant with health and safety requirements. Supervise in-house maintenance staff and third-party contractors, manage preventative and reactive maintenance schedules, support pre/post-show walkthroughs, and run facilities and systems maintenance including waste, hygiene, and key building infrastructure. Maintain records, inventories, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise in-house maintenance staff and third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with policies, health and safety standards, and safe working practices.
•Plan and execute routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance schedules, including daily/weekly checks, building inspections, and reactive repairs.
•Support venue readiness for events by conducting pre/post-show walkthroughs and responding promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
•Oversee facilities, systems, and waste management, including mechanical/electrical/environmental systems (e.g., PAT testing, CCTV, alarms, emergency lighting, ventilation, pest control).
•Maintain accurate records, reports, and inventories; manage materials/equipment orders and track repair costs while ensuring risk assessments and safety procedures are followed.

Key Requirements

•Experience working in building or venue maintenance with a supervisory role.
•Sound proficiency in maintenance tasks such as electrical, plumbing, decorative work, and carpentry.
•Competency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn venue-specific software or digital platforms.
•Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and conducting risk assessments.
•Relevant qualifications and safety certifications (advantageous).
