Key Responsibilities

  • •Define best-in-class battery cell, assembly, and integration processes to meet design, safety, and operational requirements.
  • •Partner with battery/electrical, quality, materials, and product design teams to optimize manufacturing processes for energy density, cost, cosmetics, and reliability.
  • •Identify, research, develop, and qualify battery cell suppliers, pack assemblers, and automation equipment manufacturers for hardware development.
  • •Lead new battery assembly line and automation bring-up from equipment specification and buy-off through installation qualification and production ramp.
  • •Use data and failure-mode analysis to drive process decisions and influence product/industrial design specifications while driving supplier process optimization and resolving production issues.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years of direct experience in battery or electromechanical manufacturing in a supplier development/supply base/manufacturing/process role.
  • •Experience with lithium-ion or lithium-polymer cell design, fabrication, and/or battery pack assembly and integration.
  • •Experience with global suppliers to establish and qualify manufacturing processes from NPI to mass production.
  • •Experience bringing up and qualifying automated battery assembly lines and manufacturing equipment.
  • •Ability to analyze failure modes and identify process or design root causes; travel internationally up to 15% a plus.
