  • •Review, prepare, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
  • •Identify risks and provide legal advice to support approvals for projects or pursuits.
  • •Advise on collateral matters arising from business transactions and partner with commercial/operations teams to protect company interests and minimize liability.
  • •Manage external counsel for judicial/administrative litigation and claims and oversee dispute resolution when needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree plus at least 12 years of relevant construction legal experience, including at least 4 years of leadership experience.
  • •Juris Doctor from an accredited law school plus at least 10 years as a practicing attorney supporting construction projects, including drafting/negotiating agreements and/or handling claims and litigation.
  • •Admission to the bar in the State of New York.
  • •Ability to work independently while functioning well in a team environment.
  • •Preferred: 10+ years of legal building construction experience, including experience with a larger General Contractor (GC) and high-rise residential and/or hospitality projects.
