Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the legal team’s support of Reddit’s global privacy compliance program to ensure legal obligations are met under applicable privacy/data protection frameworks.
  • •Implement and maintain privacy- and legal-related policies and processes and partner with product/engineering to design and implement privacy controls.
  • •Lead regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures related to privacy and data protection compliance readiness efforts.
  • •Serve as the lead privacy/data protection subject matter expert to ensure consistency of privacy counseling across the legal team.
  • •Partner with technical teams to investigate potential privacy and security issues and ensure compliance with applicable law.

Key Requirements

  • •Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.) and locally licensed in your jurisdiction, ideally with experience in multiple jurisdictions.
  • •12+ years of legal experience at a top law firm or in-house, including 5+ years of in-house privacy and/or product counseling experience.
  • •Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a successful privacy compliance program in a fast-paced, product-forward environment.
  • •Experience with global privacy laws and industry guidelines, especially for tech platforms like Reddit.
  • •Experience responding to and partnering with regulators, particularly in Europe, and strong legal drafting/writing skills.
