Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide direct critical care and related duties, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned neonates.
  • •Perform assessment and reassessment, including continuous monitoring, vital sign documentation, thermoregulation, and capillary glucose monitoring.
  • •Review medication appropriateness and prepare, administer, and document neonatal medications per hospital policies.
  • •Carry out neonatal procedures and support clinical care, including IV cannulation/umbilical central IV care, respiratory support setup, intubation assistance, phototherapy care, resuscitation, and aseptic procedures.
  • •Support infants and families with education and emotional support, and act as a specialist role model supporting learning culture, audits, training, and interprofessional teamwork.

Key Requirements

  • •Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse with the qualifications and experience mandated by the relevant regulatory health authority.
  • •Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • •Hold a post-graduate specialist qualification (diploma, degree, or masters) in the relevant specialty.
  • •Have previous experience within the specialist field and be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
  • •Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
