Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics/repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks in a mobile/field environment. Serve as lead/consultant for customers and technicians by troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues, documenting repairs on Repair Orders using company tools, and managing parts inventory and service truck readiness. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
•Inspect, test, and road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions using tools such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
•Maintain parts inventory and manage equipment on a company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation and service vehicle inspections.
•Document repairs by completing DOT forms and Repair Orders, uploading work photos/parts used/findings using a company iOS device and TRAIT application, while meeting safety and federal compliance requirements.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience (or alternative combinations such as degree/certification beyond HS/GED or 5 years related experience).
•At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
•Must be able to pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; a current and valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.
•Required certifications (or obtained within 18 months): ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609.
