Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver personal financial counseling services to service members and families at assigned military installations.
  • •Provide education and counseling through one-on-one sessions, consultations, briefings/presentations, and referrals outside counseling sessions.
  • •Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials; coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
  • •Provide virtual counseling and secure electronic communication when authorized; manage duty to warn and participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may substitute an associate degree plus 4 years' experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by the contract, be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certification and be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation; must pass the OCI process.
