Job Summary

Operate construction equipment safely and efficiently to support highway, utility, and grade crews, as well as on-site plant locations. Assist the labor crew with tasks like shoveling materials and plant operations, maintain equipment, and complete time/material records. Follow safety procedures for excavations (slopes and barricading), communicate with paving crews about material issues, and help with site cleanup, flagging, and traffic control as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters to support construction crews and on-site plant locations.
•Maintain safe excavation practices, including proper slopes and barricading.
•Perform minor servicing/maintenance and refer major issues to the supervisor.
•Keep machines clean and maintained and maintain time/material records.
•Assist labor crew tasks (e.g., shoveling and plant operations), assist paving communication, and avoid hazards/obstructions; travel between locations as needed.
