Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead civil design of mine waste containment (tailings and waste rock) and heap leach facilities, including initial layout, site selection, facility layout, and design drawing/specification preparation.
  • •Manage and execute mine waste geotechnical projects, including field investigations, laboratory testing, data interpretation, and geotechnical analysis.
  • •Scope, direct, and review complex geotechnical analyses (soil mechanics) such as stability, seepage, thermal modeling, deposition modeling, and runout analyses.
  • •Independently manage projects to deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget, within client-approved scope of work subject to senior review.
  • •Support client relationships and business development, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage junior engineers, and contribute to proposals and design work packages.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering (or closely related).
  • •7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
  • •Engineer license required.
  • •Experience with tailings management and heap leach facility design in the mining industry, including commonly used software packages.
  • •Strong soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering knowledge, plus demonstrated client liaison and business development skills.
