Job Summary

Ensure road grading is correct by testing and maintaining uniform road grade contours on assigned projects. Work closely with the surveyor/crew to shovel and tamp dirt, signal equipment operators to correct discrepancies, and use tools like lot levels, grade stakes, and engineering rods. Assist with paving and construction support tasks, complete daily pre- and post-inspections, follow OSHA/MSHA safety rules, and be willing to travel to various job sites.

Key Responsibilities

•Test road grade contours to determine uniformity and correct grading as needed.
•Shovel and tamp dirt from high areas into low areas to achieve uniform contour.
•Signal operators of grading machines to address discrepancies.
•Set grade stakes and use tools such as lot level and engineering rod at designated points.
•Perform daily pre- and post-inspections and assist construction/paving crew with general duties.
