Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform moderately complex reviews of alternative collateral products (e.g., PDR, PDC, hybrid and desktop appraisals, and other policy-approved valuations).
  • •Review collateral documentation for compliance with bank collateral policy, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines, and applicable regulatory/supervisory guidance.
  • •Assess collateral product appropriateness for transaction type, risk profile, and loan purpose; analyze data integrity, property characteristics, market context, and valuation conclusions.
  • •Identify missing, conflicting, or unsupported information and issue clear conditions or revision requests as needed.
  • •Render accept/condition decisions within delegated authority and escalate exceptions, risk, complexity, or policy gaps to higher-level review; document defensible review notes and communicate with partners and vendors.

Key Requirements

  • •2–4 years of experience in collateral risk review or valuation review/appraisal operations in real estate or mortgage underwriting with collateral decision authority.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of alternative collateral products and their appropriate use in lending.
  • •Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collateral eligibility requirements and bank collateral policy with risk-based decisioning.
  • •Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to assess reasonableness and collateral risk without relying on a traditional appraisal.
  • •Ability to clearly document decisions and communicate complex collateral issues while managing an individual pipeline in production.
