Job Summary

Lead Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection engineering teams for WSP’s Federal Programs AEC work. Manage staff utilization and recruitment, provide technical leadership and mentorship, and oversee mechanical engineering design and construction-phase support from project inception through build. Ensure code compliance and constructability, handle contractor submittals and RFIs, and support design effort estimates and fee preparation for Architectural-Engineering firms and General Contractors.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development and management of Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering teams for WSP USA Federal Programs AEC Team.
•Manage MP/FP staff in project assignments and maintain targeted utilization.
•Lead recruitment of additional MP/FP staff.
•Provide mechanical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction, including technical leadership/mentorship.
•Review work for code compliance and constructability; address contractor submittals and RFIs; estimate design effort and assist with fee preparations and negotiations.

Key Requirements

•12+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer on facilities/building projects.
•Professional Engineering (PE) license.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent.
•Familiarity with Department of Defense projects (USACE/NAVFAC).
•Ability to travel (domestic and international) and familiarity with both Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
