Key Responsibilities

  • •Consulting engineering for fire safety and fire system design aspects, including reviewing drawings and ensuring compliance with applicable local and international codes.
  • •Develop fire safety plans for evacuation, wayfinding, firefighting equipment, fire wall ratings, escape widths, and related requirements.
  • •Design and develop fire protection systems such as standpipe systems, automatic sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, and fire water reticulation systems.
  • •Prepare rational designs and reports (including deviations from deemed-to-satisfy solutions), tender documents, specifications, concept reports, budgets, and fee proposals.
  • •Provide expert advice to architects, builders, and other team members; consult authorities as needed; conduct site inspections and compile reports on fire system findings.

Key Requirements

  • •Mechanical/Civils degree from an accredited university or a Fire Technology degree from an accredited university of technology in fire safety.
  • •8-12 years’ experience in Fire Engineering, with consulting engineering experience advantageous.
  • •Knowledge and experience in local fire safety codes to deliver code-compliant fire safety designs.
  • •Knowledge and experience in international codes and standards for rational fire designs (e.g., British Standards/Euro Code/NCC of Australia/NFPA, BS 9999, NFPA 101, BS 7974, IFEG).
  • •Ability to perform advanced complex reviews of plans and specifications for fire protection and life safety engineering.
