Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide strategic oversight and business leadership for destination and design development, including planning through project completion.
  • •Lead master plan design and layout elements such as roadways, landscaping, hotels, CityWalk, and parking structures.
  • •Manage contractor/vendor prequalification through contracting and performance, ensuring required project procedures are followed (e.g., RFIs, submittals, punch lists).
  • •Oversee multi-destination construction to ensure designs are built as intended and meet Universal’s quality and safety standards, including EHS responsibilities.
  • •Maintain overall project budget and schedule, report progress to executive leaders, and partner with HR, Finance, Operations, and Legal to resolve issues and support workforce planning.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • •15+ years of experience in resort design and development for entertainment or hospitality projects (e.g., theme parks, hotels, retail, F&B, entertainment venues).
  • •Proven experience leading a team through large complex attraction and resort projects end-to-end.
  • •15+ years of experience managing and negotiating with external vendors and partners (e.g., architects, engineers, designers, construction).
  • •Ability to present effectively to top management, public groups, and boards, and influence decisions with tact and diplomacy.
