Job Summary

Lead the technical delivery strategy for a ground-up modernization of a high-volume global payments platform, evolving from monolithic batch processing to event-driven microservices on AWS. Shape cross-cutting architecture patterns (resilience, observability, idempotency), establish engineering practices that scale testing and CI, and define testing strategy for event-driven systems. Hands-on and outward-facing, you’ll coach engineers and drive AI-assisted engineering adoption across teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the technical delivery strategy by decomposing, sequencing, and integrating work so teams deliver end-to-end value early.
•Shape and standardize cross-cutting architecture patterns including resilience, event-driven integration, idempotency, and observability.
•Drive architecture decisions toward practical delivery by challenging over-engineering and unblocking teams when decisions stall.
•Establish scalable engineering practices such as test-driven development, contract testing, continuous integration, trunk-based development, and vertical slicing.
•Define comprehensive testing strategy for event-driven microservices (unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end) and coach engineers through design and code reviews.

Key Requirements

•Significant experience as a senior/principal engineer or technical lead delivering distributed systems in production.
•Deep hands-on experience with modern Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, building microservices architectures.
•Proven ability to shape technical strategy and architecture direction across multiple teams.
•Strong event-driven architecture experience, including Kafka and event sourcing patterns.
•Practical domain-driven design experience and the ability to coach and influence engineers and architects.
