Key Responsibilities

  • •Appraise and develop outline and detailed designs for engineering flood projects, including scour assessments and scour solutions, flood defences, and coastal engineering.
  • •Lead delivery of scour, coastal, river, and flood-related assessments, appraisals, optioneering, and design schemes from outline to detailed design.
  • •Design hydraulic structures (e.g., culverts, weirs, walls, outfalls, scour protection) for highways, rail, and property infrastructure projects.
  • •Prepare work schedules and specifications for contractors.
  • •Carry out scour assessments and asset inspection works for above and below-ground structures, working with Network Rail and local authorities.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree qualified in civil or flood risk engineering.
  • •Experience post degree in hydraulic designs associated with river or flood defence works.
  • •Knowledge of flood and river diversion design principles and solutions.
  • •Experience using CAD or Civil 3D.
  • •Site experience, ideally in a site supervision role.
