Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research, with assistance of a mentor if required.
  • •Design and run experimental studies, including collecting research data (e.g., experimentation, literature reviews, research interviews).
  • •Analyse and interpret data and develop computational models and new techniques/methods for multisensory integration during active surface exploration.
  • •Disseminate research findings through publications, research seminars, posters, and presentations.
  • •Contribute to bid-writing and research administration, and provide guidance to PhD students and support staff where appropriate.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 49,747 annually

Key Requirements

  • •First degree in the area of specialism and normally a higher degree relevant to the research area.
  • •High level analytical capability, including experience with experimental methods such as psychophysics or behavioural experimentation.
  • •Experience with VR/XR methods or immersive technologies and ability to apply knowledge to develop new intellectual understanding.
  • •Fluency in relevant models, techniques, or methods and ability to contribute to developing new ones.
  • •Ability to communicate complex information clearly and quantitatively analyse data; ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary international team.
