Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and on time while obeying traffic and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading of goods and materials using specialized equipment as warranted, including unloading empty skids and returning equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain and deliver required documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork) to the appropriate staff after route completion.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil/water/gasoline/air), report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor, arrange trailers in shipping yards, and perform other related duties.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state, appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal/state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old, have a clean driving record, and be able to remain focused in a busy environment.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for speaking professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and spend prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab; may need to be clean shaven depending on customer requirements.
