Job Summary

Create and oversee safety documentation and the safety organization for all Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects. Work with contractor safety organizations to ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and protocols, including MSHA/OSHA requirements and CRH Life-Saving Rules. Conduct safety risk assessments, audits, and root cause reviews, issue safety alerts, and develop monthly safety reports. Manage safety procedures, training, and continuous improvement across multi-site CapEx programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Promote and follow plant safety guidelines and ensure CapEx projects are delivered safely.
•Review company and CRH Group safety policies, procedures, and documentation to keep them current and consistent with regulatory requirements.
•Review contract safety requirements for suppliers and contractors and validate safety awareness, policies, culture, and statistics.
•Conduct safety risk assessments, perform safety audits, and physically inspect job sites to identify safety issues.
•Issue safety alerts, review RCA with site personnel, ensure lessons learned are implemented, and prepare monthly safety reports for management.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4-year/bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field.
•Minimum 10 years of experience in a lead technical role in the mining and cement industry.
•Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulatory requirements and CRH Life-Saving Rules, including experience reviewing contractor safety requirements for bid alignment.
•Experience conducting safety risk assessments, safety audits, and root cause analyses (RCA).
•Proficient English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read warning labels, instructions, and signs.
