Job Summary

Own inventory and work-in-progress accuracy for the Sunderland manufacturing site, maintaining standard product costing in JD Edwards. Analyze cost variances (including PPV), reconcile WIP, and lead inventory/cycle counts to resolve discrepancies. Deliver product- and line-level margin analysis to support profitability improvement and partner with cost centre owners on variance insights for spend control. Also support VAT returns, budgeting/forecasting, and ongoing finance/process improvements.

•Maintain and review standard costs for raw materials, labour, and overheads.
•Prepare and analyze cost variances, including material, labour, overhead, and PPV.
•Manage inventory accounting and reconcile work-in-progress (WIP) for accurate capitalisation and tracking.
•Perform margin analysis by product, customer, or production line to support profitability improvement.
•Lead inventory counts/cycle counts, support VAT returns, and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A activities.

•Proven knowledge of standard costing, inventory control, and WIP accounting.
•Experience with margin/profitability analysis and month-end processes.
•Proficiency with JD Edwards ERP and advanced Excel skills; VAT process knowledge is required.
