Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee staff across multiple divisions/Operating Companies to ensure operating units comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • •Manage compliance programs and departmental personnel supporting environmental, health, safety, industrial hygiene, and compliance training requirements.
  • •Ensure company compliance for air pollution control, waste management, wastewater discharges, chemical and propane storage, PCB management, underground storage tanks, SPCC, RCRA, and wetland management.
  • •Own and deliver local risk reduction strategy by partnering with operations to identify risks and implement solutions; review site inspections and audits.
  • •Implement H&S Management System requirements (ISO 14001 & 45001), lead incident investigations and reporting, track performance improvements, and prepare regulatory compliance reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree (EHS, Engineering, or Environmental Engineering preferred) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • •Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory codes including DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and NESC.
  • •Knowledge of EHS regulations for the utility industry and standards such as OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and/or VPP management system standards.
  • •Demonstrated project/program management skills and ability to define and prioritize product/project features.
  • •Knowledge of data systems including SAP, GIS, and Cintellate/EHS 360.
