Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage subordinates’ activities for defense of lawsuits involving GEICO insureds, including liability/property damage and UM/UIM and subrogation suits.
  • •Interview and/or approve job applicants, conduct/review performance appraisals, and initiate/approve salary adjustments and personnel changes.
  • •Counsel associates and take disciplinary action or terminate employment as appropriate.
  • •Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda; handle pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions/examinations before trial, and examinations under oath.
  • •Train and supervise less experienced attorneys; review office reports and implement changes to improve office statistics and reporting.

Salary: USD 148,625 - 231,650 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) degree (required).
  • •Licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions and maintain licensing requirements, including CLE where applicable.
  • •Minimum 10 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
  • •Management experience specifically managing a team of attorneys and support staff.
  • •Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.
