•Ensure that accounts are qualified, and meet with the organization’s appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
•Along with underwriters in areas supervised, make agents/broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
•Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and closes deals.

Salary: USD 150,000 - 235,000 annually

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area OR 14+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support area OR CPCU or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area AND 2+ years of management experience
•Strong underwriting knowledge in Construction Property and related lines (Builder’s Risk, Contractor’s Equipment, Fixed Property) and ability to identify growth opportunities with distributors
•Proven ability to manage market-facing underwriters and associates, ensure accounts meet appetite, and negotiate terms
•Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with brokers, agents, and customers; ability to coach and mentor staff
•Willingness to travel ~25% and operate in a regional Midwest market
