Job Summary

Coordinate and optimize barge logistics to ensure timely, cost-effective transportation of agricultural products. Execute barge shipments through end-user customers, manage and schedule barge placements, track daily positions, and provide stakeholder updates and reporting. Partner with plants, carriers, and logistics providers to receive/apply loaded barges against contracts, monitor freight costs and invoices, and maintain safety-focused compliance throughout river transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute barge shipments independently, coordinating day-to-day logistics, expediting transportation, and troubleshooting the barge logistics program.
•Manage and schedule barge placements and shipments with plants, purchasing/sales, carriers, and logistics partners to deliver on time.
•Receive in and apply loaded barges to internal and external customers against contracts using documentation and destinations.
•Perform daily barge position tracking, coordinate with carriers, and send position reports to stakeholders.
•Monitor and analyze freight costs, manage freight-related invoices/expenditures, maintain records and reports, and support a safety-first culture.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•4+ years of experience in supply chain and procurement and/or transportation and logistics.
•Ability to work a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in the office), subject to change.
•Proficiency in MS Office suite.
•In-depth understanding of standard shipping practices, including trucking, rail, and container.
