Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist with preparation of roadway/highway transportation design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • •Perform engineering calculations for roadway geometry, drainage, grading, and pavement design.
  • •Support intersection improvements, roadway reconstruction, complete streets, and multimodal transportation projects.
  • •Prepare traffic control and maintenance of traffic plans and participate in field reviews and data collection.
  • •Utilize Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop design deliverables and support technical reports and permitting documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •BS/BA and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
  • •Experience supporting roadway, highway, or transportation design projects (6+ years preferred).
  • •Experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • •Familiarity with MnDOT design standards and local agency requirements.
  • •Engineer in Training (EIT); Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months (preferred).
