Job Summary

Lead the Identity Solutions Data Platform at Mastercard, designing and operating large-scale data processing pipelines, mentoring engineers, and shaping platform strategy. You’ll prototype cost- and performance-optimized data solutions using Spark and Databricks on AWS, collaborate with product managers and stakeholders, and ensure reliability and security across a global fraud-detection platform. Drive architectural decisions, measure success with clear KPIs, and align platform work with the broader Mastercard ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

•Assess data processing pipelines against cost, efficiency, and reliability targets; prototype solutions to validate feasibility and measure results against KPIs.
•Lead hands-on technical work: write and review code, set engineering quality standards, and mentor lead and senior engineers.
•Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to build the case for change and align with Mastercard’s ecosystem.
•Maintain a clear view of how the data platform fits into the broader technology landscape and identify opportunities to consolidate on shared platforms.
•Review requirements critically, surface concerns early, and maintain momentum while ensuring high-quality delivery.

Key Requirements

•Deep experience designing and operating large-scale data processing pipelines, able to reason about pipeline architecture, cost, performance, and reliability.
•Extensive hands-on experience with Spark and Databricks; proficiency in Scala or Java, with Python experience a plus.
•Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), security, and reliability engineering.
•Ability to prototype and assess technical proposals with data, defining measurable success criteria to support recommendations.
•Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions to engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders; mentorship oriented.
