Job Summary

Operate heavy, off-road quarry equipment safely in a safety-sensitive environment. Perform pre-operation inspections, fuel and operate assigned machines efficiently, and support productivity with adherence to MSHA and first-aid/safety practices. Handle minor maintenance and assist mechanics with repairs, hose work, welding, and scheduled maintenance, while keeping the work area clean and reporting issues to the foreman. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate assigned heavy off-road equipment safely and efficiently to support quarry production.
•Perform daily pre-operation services and inspections, including checking fluids and machine condition.
•Fuel machines using diesel fuel from storage tanks.
•Perform plant maintenance with minor repairs and assist mechanic work (breakdowns, hose repairs, welding, scheduled maintenance).
•Maintain cleanliness of the plant/work area and assist with ground/utility tasks; report issues to the supervisor.

Key Requirements

•Skill in operating, maintaining, and working safely around equipment and other people.
•Experience: six months minimum on smaller loader, dozer or off-road type machinery preferred.
•Ability to lift and perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and climbing ladders to the operator cab while using controls.
•Knowledge of MSHA rules, training practices, first aid, and applicable safety requirements.
•High school graduation or equivalent preferred.
