Job Summary

Develop and deploy aeroelastic and aerothermoelastic simulation capabilities for subsonic through hypersonic flight, transitioning research concepts into production-quality commercial software. Work across low-, medium-, and high-fidelity methods (panel methods, CFD, FSI, reduced-order models), structural dynamics workflows, and HPC-enabled scalability. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers to understand aerospace requirements and validate simulation methods through the full software lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, verify, validate, and deploy aeroelastic and aerothermoelastic simulation capabilities spanning low-, medium-, and high-fidelity methods (panel methods, hybrid CFD-panel, CFD-based Euler/Navier-Stokes, FSI/CFD-CSD coupling).
•Implement solutions for static/dynamic aeroelasticity, flutter prediction, divergence/control reversal, gust response/aeroservoelasticity, and nonlinear aeroelastic behavior.
•Build multidisciplinary simulation workflows that combine structural dynamics (modal analysis, dynamic response, eigenvalue extraction, FEA/large-scale modeling) with coupled aerodynamic-structural and thermal stress/buckling analyses.
•Develop robust scientific/engineering software including numerical algorithms, solver development, software architecture, APIs/workflow automation, multiphysics integration, and verification/validation.
•Contribute to scalable HPC-enabled simulation technologies using parallel computing concepts (MPI/OpenMP/GPU/accelerators) and optimize algorithms for large-scale engineering workflows.

Key Requirements

•Ph.D. with strong research experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Computational Engineering, or a related field.
•Research specialization in computational aeroelasticity and aerodynamics/CFD/structural dynamics/multidisciplinary simulation across low to high speed regimes.
•0–5 years of industrial experience or equivalent graduate/postdoctoral research experience developing computational tools or numerical simulation capabilities.
•Programming experience in C++ and Python, with ability to translate research concepts into practical engineering solutions.
•Familiarity with scientific software development and best practices, including verification/validation and automated testing/CI.
